Characteristics of Collaborative People
Characteristics of Collaborative People
May 15, 2000
"Collaborative people tend to be leaders with a vision of a possibility they want to realize. They know that collaborations don't just happen by chance; it takes someone who is compassionate about a possibility or opportunity to make it happen. Masters at building relationships, collaborative people have a loud, exuberant conversation about what they want to create in the world versus a silent (or suppressed) one. They tend to give people the gift of their presence, listening with a high quality of attention. They often prove to be organizing maestros (not just a virtuoso in one instrument) in bringing people from divergent opinions and backgrounds together with a view toward identifying opportunities, solving problems or creating value (Hargrove, 1998, pp.50-51)."
