 "If your workplace worries are taking over your life, sapping your energy, and leaving you feeling hopeless and helpless, it's time to change the direction of your thoughts and focus on soothing yourself.

Beverly Potter, author of The Worrywart's Companion: Twenty-One Ways to Soothe Yourself and Worry Smart, provides the following suggestions for maintaining your cool at work:

1.  Evaluate the cost of worry.
2.  Use humor to take your mind off your worries.
3.  Imagine a happy ending.
4.  Count your blessings.
5.  Take a walk to clear your mind.
6.  Play some music.
7.  Acknowledge what is out of your control (Teamwork, 1998, p.2)."
