Small Defining Moments
Small Defining Moments
January 21, 2003
"It's the small, almost petty moments that define our character and reputation, that tell people whether we can be trusted or not, that attract potential friends and allies or repel them. It's the little defining moments that accumulate over time and steadily shape people's opinions of us.
How we behave at these small but pivotal moments reveals as much about us as most people need to know and determines if your path through life will be rocky or smooth. Here are six everyday defining moments that are a lot bigger than they seem.
1. When you're considerate.
2. When you show backbone.
3. When you keep a confidence.
4. When you anticipate the other side's point of view.
5. When you see an accident waiting to happen.
6. When you remain loyal (McCormack, 2000, pp.6-10)."
