United We Seem, Divided We Are
United We Seem, Divided We Are
July 1, 2003
"One dark and stormy night...an elderly farmer in a quaint village was attempting to corral his livestock. As the winds whipped through his tiny farm, he called to his small herd of cattle and sheep. His prized horse broke away and galloped through the tiny village, alerting the people that trouble was brewing.
The villagers tore from their beds and raced to the farm to access the situation. 'We haven't much time,' said one of the villagers. 'Every second counts. Everyone must cooperate!'
The elements against them, they quickly devised a plan of action that would make the most of their dwindling time. Banding together against torrential rain and gusting wind, they pilfered as many sheep and cows as they could. Winter was coming, so they needed all the wool and milk they could get their hands on.
Teamwork - it takes a village (Drennan& Anderson, 2002, p. 13)."
