Jun 22 - Jumping into the Unknown
Jumping into the Unknown
"Jump represents a commitment to traverse the unknown. Jump can be the point of no return in the transformation process. In Chinese mythology, when Sheung-Ngaw hastily drinks a stolen elixir (metaphor for knowledge), she commits herself to a higher level of awareness and functioning, in her case as the moon goddess. Similarly, when Icarus, flapping wax-fastened wings, flies too near the sun, he embarks on a journey of no return. You can see then, that jump represents a dangerous opportunity. There is no knowing what lies at the bottom of the abyss. On the other hand, a jump is what it takes to reap the rewards of change. Jump can be a thrilling experience, too. It moves you out of routine and on to adventures (Allen, R.C., 2002, p. 84)."
