Apr 11 - Resiliency
Resiliency
April 11, 2006
"In today's organizations, many leaders feel the stress to change and tend to cause stress for others. How do you handle stress? Can you bounce back? The coaching leader practices the attitude and behaviors of resiliency and coaches others to be resilient.
A resilient leader is
1. Positive: views life as challenging but opportunity filled
2. Focused: has a clear vision of what is to be achieved
3. Flexible: is pliable when responding to uncertainty
4. Organized: applies structures to help manage ambiguity
5. Proactive: engages change instead of evading its results (Bianco-Mathis, Nabors, & Roman, 2002, p.29)."
