Building Employee Self-Confidence and Setting the Tone for Empowerment
August 29, 2006
1. "Be more concerned about making others feel good about themselves than in making them feel good about you or the organization.
2. Encourage employees to view their work as a journey with many lessons to be learned.
3. Set employees free to try, to fail, to learn, and to move on.
4. Create a learning culture within the organization.
5. Recognize and reward employees who maintain a positive attitude.
6. Ask at least one employee for his or her opinion each day - then be quiet and listen.
7. Honor the uniqueness of each team member (Chapman, 2003, p.12-17)."
