Nov 21 - What Kind of Leader Are You?
What Kind of Leader Are You?
November 21, 2006
"A survey found that 90 percent of Americans think that they're smarter than the average person. It's true that most people think of themselves as more cunning and brighter than the next person; yet it's the minority that breaks out of the mold of mediocrity to achieve excellence at anything. What kind of leader are you?
You can be average, or you can make the decision to be more than that. But there aren't any magical formulas or secret handshakes that gain you entry into any Great Leaders Club of America. Good leadership is a learned skill, and you have to work hard at it. It means being an open person, and doing business as if everything you say or do will end up on the front page of the local newspaper (Baum, 2004, p. 24-25)."
