Oct 30 - Accept Responsibility for Your Community
Accept Responsibility for Your Community
October 30, 2007
"Do you want to maintain the right to vote in free elections? Then accept the responsibility to actually research candidates and issues, take an informed stand, and actually go to the trouble to vote. Those who proudly declare: 'I don't vote; I'm not interested in politics,' or 'I don't vote because it doesn't mean anything' are fools and a threat to the concept of free elections. Perhaps the only bigger threat is the active voters who do not take the responsibility to properly educate themselves on the issues, and choose their leaders and government mandate based on rumor and hype (O'Leary, 2006, p. 32)."
