As a leader you set the tone for others. Your behavior will be closely watched - and copied.
- Always be pleasant.
- Greet people by name.
- Listen to others in meetings.
- Always introduce others who are with you to people you bump into.
- Never take anything for granted.
- Avoid office gossip.
- Stay out of office politics.
- Dress for success and acceptance.
- Be timely in everything you do.
- Be willing to listen to others even if you think that your opinion will differ.
- Don't argue with people needlessly.
- Always show interest in the people around you.
- Encourage those lower in the corporate hierarchy to strive for improvement.
- Model the behavior you expect from others (Charney, 2006, p.48-49)."
