Creative Collaboration
Creative Collaboration
May 14, 2008
From: Georgescu, P. (2005). The source of success: five enduring principles at the heart of real leadership. San Francisco: Jossey-Bass.
Because organizational creativity requires collaboration and the ability to function in creative mind states, which involves the need to take risks and accept rejection, the creative environment becomes critical in optimizing the productive creative output. That environment must have all these feautures:
- A clear set of goals and aspirations that are measurable.
- A supportive culture that provides clear and complete information to the creative person and team.
- An encouraging environment that allows for risk taking, along with some inevitable failure and rejection.
- A reward system both financial and emotional that is tied to measurable results (Georgescu, 2005, p. 31).
