Sharing Compassion
Sharing Compassion
June 2, 2009
From: Kuczmarksi, S.S.; & Kuczmarksi, T.D. (2007). Apples are square: thinking differently about leadership. New York: Kaplan Publishing.
Great leaders recognize that compassion begins from within. Only when individuals can forgive themselves and love themselves, can they give that forgiveness and love to others. It is a difficult task because we all stumble through life's journey.
Leaders fail just like everyone else; however, what strengthens them is the ability to learn from that failure to help them and their teams succeed in the future. We have all been knocked down before; a great leader is always there to help you get back up (Kuczmarksi & Kuczmarksi, 2007, p.50).
