Building Your Facilitation Toolbox

Knowing the techniques of facilitation and having a well-stocked facilitation toolbox enhances your ability to most effectively manage even the most difficult group interactions.  This training is designed to help you learn about facilitation processing and tools to use with group management.  Participants will learn about the process and practice using tools to gain a more in-depth understanding of how to select the right tool(s) in order to successfully help groups accomplish their desired outcomes.

This is a two-day training:

1st Day – Facilitation Processing

Sometimes participants get off track with the discussion and want to talk about things, not on the current agenda.  How are those items handled?  We provide training on how to acknowledge the additional topics – many of which are important – but to not allow them to totally derail the planned agenda.  Every group goes through many stages of development.  Some of those stages are very uncomfortable for both participants and facilitators.  This training helps participants gain a better understanding of group dynamics and how to utilize those dynamics for positive meeting outcomes.

Objectives:

Participants will:

-understand facilitation and the facilitator roles

-learn how to assess and manage group dynamics

-understand roles of diversity, power and ethics

2nd Day – Building Your Facilitation Toolbox

(If you have completed the process training previously, you may join us for our second day training for half of the registration cost.)
