Communication and Conflict Management

Beth Flynn came out to the Newark campus to do a Civility workshop. It was very helpful and because of that I learned about Leadership Moments and signed up for them. I usually find something useful in each segment. Very informative, concise, please continue!

The What Will it Be Today? Conflict, Compete or Collaborate workshop focus was on me, and what I can do to change how I act in conflict situations. I gained greater understanding that I can not change the way others act, I can only change my own actions. Very helpful to learn how my behaviors can be interpreted by others as very differently from how I intended. I was apprehensive at the first, but Beth quickly made entire group feel welcome, and capable of change.  Playing the game, “Win as much as you can” demonstrated perfectly how difficult it can be for some of us to learn a new behavior and change our habits.
